Pathogenesis

Pathogenesis is the process by which a disease develops and progresses, from the point of initial infection to the development of symptoms. This process is associated with a range of factors, including the nature and severity of the virus or bacteria causing the disease, the presence of other conditions, the strength and effectiveness of the patient's immune system, and access to healthcare. Pathogenesis is important to diagnose and understand the development of a disease, and to develop treatments and vaccinations. Its understanding is essential to modern medicine and improvements in global health.
