Mother's Milk Bank

A mother's milk bank is a non-profit organization that collects, pasteurizes, tests, and dispenses donor human milk to babies whose mothers are unable or choose not to provide their own milk. This milk provides life-saving nourishment for preterm, ill, and medically fragile babies, who may not tolerate or digest formula milk. It also provides immune protection to those who are immunocompromised and is naturally better for their overall health and development than formula milk. Donor milk is also recommended over formula milk for full-term babies who have been orphaned and those who have difficulty breastfeeding due to maternal illness or inability. The mothers' milk bank has become an increasingly important resource for families who can benefit from its life-saving gift.

Women's fertility peaks in the early 20s, and drops considerably after age 35.Menopause typically occurs during a women's midlife. During menopause, hormonal production by the ovaries is reduced, eventually causing a permanent cessation of the primary function of the ovaries. This is considered the end of the fertile phase of a woman's life.
