Animal Metabolism
Animal metabolism is the sum of biochemical processes that occur within an animal's body to sustain life. Metabolism is important because it provides the energy and building blocks necessary for all body functions. Metabolism involves biochemical reactions that break down food sources and convert them into energy and other compounds that can be used in the body. Additionally, metabolic processes help the body perform essential functions like growth, repair and reproduction. Without metabolism, animals would not be able to survive and would cease to exist.
