Arachnology

Arachnology is the scientific study of spiders and related arachnids. It has wide-reaching implications, as these organisms have diverse ecological roles in food webs and have potential impact on human health. Arachnology has many uses, including understanding how spiders interact with their environment, surveying diversity and abundance of species, and monitoring changes in arthropod populations. It also has implications for conservation and public health, as spiders can be powerful indicators of the health of the environment, and the presence of certain arachnids can be used to monitor the spread of vector-borne diseases.
