Batrachology
Batrachology is the scientific study of amphibians, such as frogs and salamanders. This field explores their evolution, ecology, behavior, physiology, genetics and conservation. It is important to batrachology as it helps to understand how amphibians fit into their environment and how they are affected by environmental changes. Furthermore, it helps to develop strategies for protecting amphibian species and their habitats, which are declining due to human-induced climate change. Batrachology can also be used to assess ecosystem health, as amphibians often act as indicators of ecological change.
