Caudata

Caudata are an order of amphibians, also known as the salamanders and newts. They are found throughout the world in a variety of environments, and are renowned for their ability to regenerate lost limbs. Caudata form an important part of the food chain and are commonly used as indicator species to measure the health of an environment. They are also kept as pets, with some species becoming increasingly popular in recent years due to their interactive, playful behaviour.
