Cheetahs
Cheetahs are large carnivorous cats found mainly in Africa and small parts of Iran. They are the fastest land animals in the world, and the only living species of their genus Acinonyx. With their slim body, long legs and distinctive black "tear-streaks" on their faces, cheetahs are an iconic species of the African Savannah. Their incredible speed allows them to hunt prey such as gazelles and antelopes, and their behavior has been studied extensively by scientists in order to gain insight into their ecology and evolution. Cheetahs are currently endangered due to a variety of factors, including habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect these majestic cats, and their protection is essential to the health of African ecosystems.
