Mendelism
Mendelism is a biological concept based on the discoveries of Gregor Mendel. Mendelism is used to explain the inheritance of traits, and the way in which traits can be passed on from one generation to the next. It demonstrates how patterns of genetic inheritance and variation are produced. By utilizing the Mendelian principles of segregation and independent assortment, scientists and researchers can better understand and predict the characteristics of progeny from different parental crosses. Mendelian inheritance is used in scientific fields such as medicine, genetics and plant breeding and holds a significant role in many areas of science.
