Nematology

Nematology is the study of nematodes, microscopic roundworms found in soil and water environments. Nematodes are important organisms that have significant agricultural and medical implications. They contribute to soil fertility by feeding on detritus and releasing minerals as well as acting as plant-protecting pathogens, parasites, or symbionts. Nematodes also serve as vectors for transmission of plant and human diseases and can be used to control insect populations. As such, studying nematology can help in understanding and managing complex agricultural problems, enabling more efficient crop production, and improving human health.
