Reptiles
Reptiles are a group of cold-blooded animals that feature scales or plates and breath air. They include snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodilians. Reptiles are important in ecosystems as they serve as both predators and prey. They are especially important in controlling populations of rodents and other small mammals, which can cause damage to crops and other plants. Reptiles are also valuable to humans as they are part of the food chain, providing resources for humans to eat, as well as being kept as pets. Furthermore, the skin of some reptiles is used to make leather goods, and some reptiles provide veterinary care, such as venom produced by some snakes to make antivenom. Reptiles have been around for millions of years and are a critical part of the Earth's biodiversity.
