Trilobites

Trilobites are an extinct species of arthropods that lived approximately 501-520 million years ago. They had segmented bodies and were covered in a hard exoskeleton. Trilobites are one of the most diverse and well-studied fossil groups, and as such, they are important for helping us understand the evolution of arthropods, the most diverse group of animals on earth. They also help us to reconstruct ancient ocean ecosystems, as they are found in many different types of marine sediments. In addition to their scientific importance, trilobites are popular among fossil collectors and paleontologists, who admire their unique shape and the amazing level of detail found in their fossilized remains.
