Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy, also known as radiotherapy, is a type of cancer treatment using beams of high-energy radiation to destroy cancer cells. The radiation is targeted directly at the tumor, allowing for the greatest amount of cancer cells to be destroyed with the least amount of damage to surrounding healthy tissue. It is most commonly used in combination with other treatments, like chemotherapy and surgery, in order to provide a more complete approach to cancer treatment. Radiation therapy is an important tool in the fight against cancer and is used to shrink tumors and reduce the risk of recurrence.
