Actins

Actins are a family of proteins that are assembled into thin filaments, helping to shape and move cells. They are essential for the functioning of a wide range of cellular processes, including muscle contraction, cell growth, cell division, and movement. They are also involved in organizing the internal structure of cells to promote cellular functions, as well as providing a scaffolding for the attachment of other proteins. Actins are highly conserved across species and are found in organisms ranging from bacteria to animals. Their importance in the normal functioning of cells makes them a target for the development of pharmaceutical drugs, as well as being used in research to further understand cellular dynamics.
