Cell Proliferation
Cell proliferation is the process of creating new cells in order to generate growth and repair of tissues or organs. It is an essential biological process for reproduction, development, and the maintenance of a healthy cell population. It is also important in cancer research, as the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells is the result of uncontrolled proliferation. Cell proliferation can be studied using a variety of techniques, including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and live cell imaging, to understand the mechanisms underlying cell growth and death. The study of cell proliferation has many potential uses, ranging from the design of cancer treatments to the development of regenerative medicine.
