Cellular Pathology and Disease
Cellular pathology is the study of changes in the structure and organization of cells that underlie the responses of an organism to a disease. The results of these investigations can range from an increased understanding of the mechanisms of disease development to the identification of new treatments and potential therapeutic targets. By studying cellular pathology, scientists are able to shed light on the causes and effects of a wide range of human diseases, from cancer to infectious diseases, as well as the effects of environmental and genetic factors. This knowledge can be used to develop more effective treatments and improve outcomes for patients. Cellular pathology also has the potential to inform and improve public health policies, helping to identify and intervene in preventable cases of illness and disease.
