Engineering Psychology

Engineering psychology is the study of how people interact with their environment, specifically the machines and tools they use. It attempts to identify how people can use technology optimally in order to increase productivity, reduce risk of harm or injury, save money, and improve the overall quality of worklife. Engineering psychology can be applied to the design of machines, the layout of work environments, and training and educational programs to help people learn how to use technology in a safe and efficient manner. Its significance lies in its potential to improve safety, productivity, and quality of life in workplaces as well as in our daily lives.
