Journal of Colon And Rectal Cancer welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams working across colon and rectal cancer.
Regular submissions are accepted throughout the year. A manuscript enters review when it is ready, rather than waiting for a themed window to open.
Where contributions are welcome
Questions the journal would like to see answered
The list below is an invitation, not an eligibility rule. Any sound study within the journal's remit is welcome, whether or not it appears here.
- Early-onset colorectal cancer: incidence, biology, treatment response and survival, including work on disparities in outcome.
- Screening and early detection, including non-invasive and stool-based methods, uptake in under-screened populations, and colonoscopy quality.
- Molecular classification, liquid biopsy and circulating tumor DNA, and what they change about staging and surveillance.
- Rectal cancer specifically: total mesorectal excision, organ preservation, and the trade-offs between cure and function.
- Neoadjuvant and adjuvant strategy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy, and the mechanisms behind treatment resistance.
- Survivorship: recurrence, long-term function, quality of life, and the care of people living years after treatment.
- Implementation, health-services and policy research connected to colorectal cancer care.
- Methodological work, including study design, measurement and analysis, where it makes a substantive contribution to the field.
What to expect
How a submission is handled
Assessment
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Publication
Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution license, registered with a Crossref DOI, and committed to the Portico preservation archive. The article processing charge of USD 2,400 is invoiced only after acceptance. Decisions remain independent of fees, membership, editorial roles and paid services.
