Aims and Scope

Journal of Psychological Disorders(JPD) publishes research that focuses on all aspects of psychological disorders, including diagnostics, assessment, and treatment. The journal seeks to promote a balanced and evidence-based approach to the study of psychological disorders and to foster the use of a wide variety of scientific methods and perspectives. The primary goal of the journal is to investigate, discuss and review current developments in the understanding, treatment, and prevention of psychological disorders.

The term Psychological Disorders is a complex one, broadly covering any psychiatric condition that is characterized by an abnormality in cognition, emotion, or behavior. This includes conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Depression, Schizophrenia, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). JPD provides a platform for researchers to share their insights and expertise on the psychological issues and mental health implications associated with these disorders. The journal publishes articles related to all aspects of psychological disorder diagnostics, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, behavior therapy, and more. Authors are welcome to submit original research articles, review articles, case studies, clinical trials, and methodologies in these areas.

The core symptoms of JPD include pervasive, excessive, unfounded, and irrational jealousy and mistrust regarding the intentions and behavior of others, as well as a strong tendency to suspect, and then attribute, malevolent motivations and intentions to those around them. These symptoms are often exacerbated by feelings of social inadequacy, feelings of worthlessness, feelings of inferiority, excessive need for control, and/or feelings of being persecuted. 

The research reported in JPD encompasses methods and topics from a range of areas, including cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychopathology, mental health, psychoanalysis, social psychology, cognitive psychology, child and adult development, and clinical and forensic psychology. The Journal aims to provide a platform for the exchange of clinical, theoretical, and practical insights, guidelines, and recommendations to further improve understanding and treatment of the many facets of psychological disorders. JPD is a vital resource for professionals and researchers from a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, psychiatry, social work, public health, and neuroscience. The journal is committed to providing multidisciplinary perspectives on psychological disorders and their treatment and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas between researchers, professionals, and medical professionals. 

The journal consists of original articles, review papers, case reports, and rapid communication reports, which cover research on various topics related to psychological disorders. This includes the study of psychological treatment and assessment techniques, current research in the area of mental health and disorders, risk factors and prognosis in mental illness, epidemiological and biological aspects of mental health, and emerging treatments for psychiatric disorders. The focus of the journal is on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and mental health, as well as on considering new diagnostic criteria, assessment tools, and treatments.
