Carbon Cycling and Ecology

Carbon cycling is the process through which carbon is exchanged between the atmosphere, land, ocean, and lifeforms. It is an essential part of the global biogeochemical cycle and is responsible for maintaining the balance of carbon in the environment. Carbon cycling is also related to the production and consumption of oxygen as well as the regulation of global climate. The study of carbon cycling is essential to understand the ecology and functioning of different ecosystems and its relationship to global change. Carbon cycling can have a large impact on the sustainability of ecosystems, so understanding and managing it is key for the conservation of the environment.
