Cultural Ecology
Cultural ecology is a branch of human ecology that examines the relationship between cultures and their natural environment. It focuses on understanding how people interact with and adapt to their surroundings, and how they create and use resources to sustain their way of life. The study of cultural ecology is important as it helps us to gain an understanding of the various ways in which humans impact their environment, and how our actions can shape the environment in return. Cultural ecology can inform policy and decision making to ensure sustainable management of resources, as well as provide insights for preserving and restoring fragile ecosystems.
