Sinusitis in Adults
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the sinuses. It is a common condition in adults, affecting up to 10% of the population each year. Symptoms can range from facial pain and pressure, headaches, fatigue, and a stuffy nose to green or yellow nasal drainage. Sinusitis can be caused by allergies, colds, bacterial infections, and structural problems of the sinuses. Treatment options include decongestants and medications, sinus rinse, and/or surgery. Sinusitis can be an annoying and uncomfortable condition, but there are treatments available to help relieve symptoms and improve quality of life.
