Hypertension Ulcer, Venous

Hypertension Ulcer, Venous (also known as stasis ulcer) is a type of chronic ulcer that forms in lower legs and feet due to abnormally high pressure in the veins. This elevated pressure increases the risk of tissue damage, making it difficult for a wound to heal without treatment. Common risk factors include age, obesity, smoking, and standing or sitting for extended periods. Treatment usually involves lifestyle changes such as weight loss and physical activity, compression therapy, and wound care. In some cases, surgical intervention may be necessary. Hypertension ulcers can lead to complications such as infection and tissue death, and even amputation if left untreated. Early detection and treatment can minimize these risks and improve the prognosis for affected individuals.
