Ulcers, Mouth

Mouth ulcers, also known as aphthous ulcers, are open sores that can appear on the inside of the cheeks, lips, under the tongue, or on the gums. Although mild mouth ulcers are generally harmless and heal within a couple of weeks, severe mouth ulcers can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulty eating and speaking. If the ulcer persists for more than three weeks, it is recommended to consult a doctor. There are a variety of treatments available to reduce discomfort, including topical medications, oral medications, and alternative treatments such as salt water rinses and natural remedies. Having a healthy diet and lifestyle can also help manage mouth ulcers.
