Oxidative Stress
Oxidative stress is an imbalance in the body caused by an overload of harmful molecules known as ‘free radicals’. These free radicals can damage cells, proteins and DNA by oxidizing them, leading to various issues such as inflammation, aging and various diseases. Oxidative stress is now being studied as a possible underlying cause of many chronic diseases and can be measured by tests. Antioxidants are often recommended to help combat oxidative stress and its associated health risks.
