Ozone

Ozone is a colorless, naturally occurring gas found in the Earth's upper atmosphere. It is composed of three oxygen atoms (O3) and is a powerful oxidant that can break down pollutants in the air. Ozone plays an important role in protecting the Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun by absorbing some of the UV radiation before it reaches the Earth's surface. Ozone can also reduce the production of ground-level smog, which can lead to breathing discomfort, eye irritation, and even loss of crops. Ozone has many uses, including water and air purification, deodorizing, and sterilizing. It is commonly used to kill bacteria and mold, decontaminate surfaces, and remove odors and smoke.
