Explant Cultures

Explant cultures are laboratory techniques used to grow plant tissues outside the plant from which they were taken. The goal is to create a living environment for the tissue that allows it to continue to grow and develop. This can be used to study plant metabolism and physiology, examine gene expression, or produce multiple copies of a plant for research purposes. Explant cultures are also valuable for producing genetically modified plants for agricultural or medicinal use, or for producing products of biotechnological importance. They are a crucial tool for understanding the fundamentals of plant biology and can provide novel solutions to agronomic and biotechnological problems.
