Charges by article type
The charge is set by article type. No further charge is made for figures, tables or length.

How charging works
The sequence below is the whole of it: nothing is payable while a manuscript is under consideration.
Submission
No charge is made at submission, and none is made for a manuscript that is declined.
Acceptance
The charge for the accepted article type becomes payable once the editorial decision to accept has been made.
Invoice
An invoice is issued to the author or, on request, to the institution or funder covering the cost.
Publication
The article is published open access and is free for anyone to read.
Billing and fee-relief inquiries
Authors who need institutional billing, grant documentation or a discussion of cost should contact the editorial office at [email protected] before submission.
Withdrawal
These terms apply to a manuscript withdrawn after submission and are the journal's complete withdrawal policy.
Before and within three days
Authors should contact the editorial office promptly and wait for written confirmation before submitting the work elsewhere.
Manuscripts withdrawn within 3 days of submission are not subject to a withdrawal charge.
After three days
Manuscripts withdrawn more than 3 days after submission incur a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the journal's APC.
Authors must receive official withdrawal confirmation before submitting the manuscript to another journal.

The charge does not affect assessment. Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, or roles. Submission routes are listed on the Submit Manuscript page.
