Spinal Fractures
Spinal fractures are a common type of bone fracture that occur when the spinal bones (vertebrae) break or become cracked. Usually, these fractures are the result of trauma, such as a car accident or a fall. However, they can also occur due to osteoporosis, cancer, or other conditions. The consequences of spinal fractures vary depending on severity and location. In severe cases, a spinal fracture can lead to broken spinal cord, paralysis, decreased movement, pain, and disability. Treatment options vary from bracing to surgery, depending on the severity of the fracture. As such, it is important to seek the advice of a specialist to develop an appropriate plan of care.
