Oxygen Free Radicals
Oxygen free radicals are highly reactive molecules that are produced as metabolic by-products in all living organisms. They are known to cause cellular damage and are associated with many chronic diseases, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s. Antioxidants can counter the effects of oxygen free radicals by neutralizing them and preventing them from causing damage in the body. Research has also found that certain dietary supplements, such as antioxidants, may help protect against oxidative stress caused by oxygen free radicals and improve overall health.
