Mouth Ulcers

Mouth ulcers are a type of painless lesion that can appear on the soft tissues of the mouth and tongue. They may range in size from small to large and can occur in any part of the mouth. Mouth ulcers can be caused by physical or chemical trauma, or as a symptom of certain diseases such as autoimmune disorders and infections like herpes simplex virus. Treatment of mouth ulcers depends on the cause, with medications such as corticosteroids and antivirals used in some cases. The proper diagnosis and management of mouth ulcers is important to prevent complications from occurring.
