Ulcers, Oral
Oral ulcers are sores that form on the inside of the mouth, most commonly on the cheeks and lips. They can be painful and make it difficult to eat or talk. Oral ulcers can be caused by a variety of factors, such as stress, viruses, bacteria, allergies, and/or medication. In most cases, they will heal on their own, but they can linger for weeks in some cases. There are treatments available to help speed up the healing process, such as topical ointments and medications that can reduce inflammation and pain. Oral ulcers should never be left untreated as they can lead to serious complications and infections.
