Mucosal Protectants

Mucosal protectants are substances used to provide protection to the mucous linings of the body, such as those in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and the respiratory system. These protectants help to reduce the symptoms of GI disorders, such as ulcers and heartburn, and to reduce the risk of infection in the respiratory system. They also help create a strong and effective barrier against allergens and irritants. By protecting the mucous membranes, mucosal protectants can help reduce the risk of infection, reduce inflammation, and improve overall health. They are often used in the treatment of conditions such as asthma, COPD, and rhinitis.
