Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment, usually a special chamber. This pressurized environment increases the oxygen levels in the patient’s blood and tissues, aiding in the healing process. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat a number of medical conditions, ranging from carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, and skin grafts, to wound healing and infections due to radiation and chemotherapy. The increased oxygen levels in the blood and tissues can help stimulate the growth of new blood vessels, boost the immune system and reduce inflammation, making it an effective treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.
