pylori Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a common bacterium found in the stomach and duodenum that is known to cause a variety of digestive problems. H. pylori infection has been associated with several gastrointestinal disorders, including peptic ulcer disease and gastritis. In addition, H. pylori has been linked to an increased risk of stomach cancer. As such, H. pylori can be targeted with antibiotics to reduce the risk of these health issues. Diagnosing H. pylori is typically done with a blood test or breath test. Treatment consists of a combination of medications to eradicate the infection and help manage symptoms.
